We've Been Quiet... But We've Been Building.
If you've noticed things have been a little quieter around here lately, you're right.
The truth is, we've spent the last several months doing what many businesses and organizations have had to do—taking a step back, evaluating the changing world around us, and making thoughtful decisions about how Brilliance in Black can create the greatest impact moving forward.
We've never believed in standing still, and this season has been one of reflection, strategy, and growth.
For over a decade, Brilliance in Black has been known for bringing people together through events that celebrate Black businesses, culture, and community. Those experiences aren't going anywhere.
One thing that hasn't changed is our commitment to the culture.
In fact, we're doubling down on it.
You already know Holla Black. It's been part of the Brilliance in Black organization for years, highlighting incredible Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and experiences.
We're expanding Holla Black beyond our local communities and taking it to a global scale—telling stories from cities around the world, discovering Black-owned businesses internationally, and creating a platform that connects our community wherever Black excellence exists.
This isn't a new venture—it's the evolution of something we've always believed in.
Our Newest International Holla Black Story
As we continue expanding Holla Black's reach, we're excited to share our latest blog post featuring Chris Sellars, an incredible photographer based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Chris shares his journey, his creative perspective, and what inspires his work, offering a glimpse into the people and stories that make Holla Black so special.

What About the Events?
We've received this question quite a bit, so here's the answer:
No, we're not done with events.
Our events have always been a huge part of who we are, and we absolutely plan to bring them back. Right now, we've simply chosen to put them on pause while we focus on growing Holla Black and building a stronger foundation for what's next.
Thank you for sticking with us through every chapter. Whether you've attended a festival, shopped our directory, supported a Black-owned business because of one of our recommendations, or simply shared our content, you've helped make this community what it is.
We're excited about where we're headed, and we're grateful you're coming along for the journey.
Stay tuned—there's so much more to come.
With appreciation,
The Brilliance in Black Team
